Manchester NH - MFD responded to a reported building fire at 11:45 PM, Engine 6 which is less than 1 block was on scene quickly with flames showing from the second floor. MFD immediately sounded a second alarm and evacuations and searches began, evacuating 3 families from the 3 floor building in to the cold temperatures.
Due to the close proximity of the adjacent buildings MFD used multiple ladder trucks to protect the neighboring buildings. Once the fire was knocked down a MFD firefighter was able to retrieve a dog for one of the tenants (see photo) and an AMR Paramedic brought it to the woman waiting in the back of one of the fire trucks on scene.
No Fire Fighters were injured or civilians. The fire is under investigation, Red Cross is working with the families to find them shelter for the evening.
