Serious Head-On Crash Closes 101 - One Person Flown Via Life-Flight

Amherst Fire Rescue responded to a head-on crash on Route 101 near the intersection of Horace Greeley. A pickup truck collided with a passenger car entrapping the woman in the car.

Fire / EMS requested DHART, however it wasn't available so Life Flight from Mass was flown to the scene. A landing zone was set up at the Patio Barn, and the female once extricated was brought to the landing zone for transport.

The operator of the pickup truck was transported by Milford Fire to Catholic Medical Center.

Rte 101 was closed for several hours while the scene was processed.
