CFD 4-Alarm Murray Farm 4-10-19
Concord, NH - Murray Farm and Nursery was struck with a 4-alarm fire early morning on April 10, 2019.
The fire which was at 115 River Rd was noticed by someone driving by who stopped at the farm house and notified the owner and called 911. The fire quickly spread across a large structure fueled by many flammable items inside, and was a challenge for CFD due to water supply.
According to Deputy Fire Chief McIntire 23 towns responded to the scene assisting with manpower and water supply. The lack of hydrants required water to be pulled from the nearby river and also water shuttled by tankers.
The owner of the Murray Farm said that they would quickly take steps to prevent damage to the existing plants which include flowers and vegetables. The greenhouses cover nearly an acre, and it appears 90% of the plants remain unaffected.
One Firefighter was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries, but they are not believed to be life-threatening.
