Manchester Providing Testing To Residents In MHRA Properties
Manchester Fire working with Manchester Housing Redevelopment Authority (MHRA) who are setting up COVID-19 testing sites at several locations around the city of Manchester.
MHRA provides public housing apartments for low-income families, the elderly, and adults with disabilities. The residents of many of these housing developments may not have mobility challenges which prevents many people from getting tested.
The Manchester Fire Department is setting up on site and providing the testing inside a tent located outside or if the person has mobility issues MFD will visit the apartment of the person to do the testing.
Thursday according to MFD District Chief Gamache about 50 tests were completed at the Kalivas building on Chestnut St. in the morning for people who signed up. The testing has been set up at other locations earlier this week, and they will be setting up at several other locations.
The testing is for people who have signed up and is not available to people without prior reservations.
