GOFFSTOWN, NH - Goffstown Fire Department received a report of a structure fire at 62 Wallace Road on January ry 26, 2023.

Responders arrived to heavy fire showing from a two-car garage attached to a single-family house. The incident commander immediately requested a working fire status bringing multiple area communities to the scene and covering Goffstown stations.

Firefighters worked to knock down the heavy fire in the garage while other firefighters searched the house for occupants. Crews located two cats and a dog that they safely rescued from the residence.

Crews removed a garage door for better access and held the fire primarily to the garage with some extension into the breezeway. The living space of the structure received some smoke damage, but the fire did not extend into the house. The fire was knocked down at 10:19 a.m. and overhaul continued for an extended time.

After the fire was extinguished Goffstown Fire Investigators began searching for the cause and origin of the fire. At this time no information has been released on the cause, but it appears it started inside the front corner of the garage based on evidence that could be seen.

No firefighters were injured, and it was confirmed no people were home at the time of the fire.
