BEDFORD, NH - Bedford Fire dispatch was notified of a kayak that was stuck on rocks in the Merrimack River just south of the 293 overpass on November 17, 2024

Bedford Fire responded just before 9 a.m. to the area and requested Manchester to respond with fire personnel, boats and an AMR ambulance.

Bedford arrived and could see the kayak, and did not see any people around the kayak. A boat was launched with Bedford Firefighters and Manchester launched boats.

The kayak was secured by Bedford and brought back to the shore where it was inspected. Based on several different things that firefighters investigated it appears it was an abandoned kayak that had floated down the river.
