Manchester Fire Engine 5 and Engine 6 responded to the Manchester Transfer Station on Dunbarton Rd for a 30 yard compactor on fire. The compactor was parked against the transfer area where people can dispose of items. Waste Management assisted in pulling the unit away from the dock area. The fire was approx had way in the full compactor so the decision was made to dump it, and have a DPW front loader spread the items out to be extinguished.
