MFD Rescues Tennants Of Multi-Family Building At 510 Maple
At 8:17 AM multiple calls came into MFD for a building fire at 510 Maple Street. Fire Fighters arrived to Smoke coming from the 1st and 2nd floors of a 3 story Multi-family dwelling.
There was a report of a victim trapped on the third floor. A victim was seen hanging her head out of a third-floor window on the north side of the building. A 35-foot ground ladder was deployed for rescue. The Rescue Company found the victim from the interior and she was lead outside to safety.
AMR Medics evaluated the woman rescued from the building, and she did not require transport. Medics also treated 3 of the tenant's pets.
The fire was located in one of the first-floor apartments. The fire extended to the 2nd and 3rd floors through plumbing void spaces. Hand lines were deployed to all three floors. The bulk of the fire was knocked down quickly and all companies participated in an extensive overhaul of all three floors.
The building sustained extensive fire, water, and smoke damage and will displace approx 10 people from their apartments.
The fire is under investigation by Manchester Fire Investigators.
