The Hampshire Dome at the Hampshire Hills Sports complex in Milford, NH collapsed under the pressure of a record snowfall. Three roofers were on the roof clearing the heavy snow when a sharp piece of ice punctured the material causing a large tear leading to the collapse.

Four people were inside the dome at the time of the collapse and were able to escape by lifting the material and exiting a door.

The complex contains an indoor track and several sports fields.

The roof of the structure is made with a heavy duty material that is supported by air.

According to a statement from Hampshire Hills, which manages the facility, the dome depressurized under the weight of snow and ice. The collapse caused the fabric to tear, and it will need to be fully repaired or replaced.

The building was surrounded by yellow caution tape and the doors were labeled by the Milford, NH building department as unsafe to enter.
