Manchester, NH - MPD received a report of gunshots Sunday morning at 320 South Porter St. The resident of 320 So Porter according to Lt Gallant reported her window and door had been shot.
MPD shut down South Porter Street and stretched crime scene tape isolating Memorial High School parking lot, the street and the area surrounding 320 So Porter Street. MPD Crime Scene van was on scene and detectives could be seen processing the vehicle in the driveway. An MPD Detective was seen using a metal detector in the parking lot of Memorial High School directly across from the house. The Detective could be seen picking up ballistics from the parking lot and collecting evidence.
While on scene a person who identified himself as a teacher at Memorial said he had two students in the building directly across from the scene taking a standardized test. He asked if they would be able to leave, and the MPD Sergeant on scene said they would allow them to leave the area and it was safe for them to pass under the crime scene tape.
As of 12 pm the scene remained active and the street closed to traffic. Several neighbors in the area spoke about hearing the gunshots.
MPD advises this does not appear to be a random act.
