MPD Swears In Fifteen New Police Officers At Ceremony Held At MPAL
One of the largest groups of new officers in MPD history was sworn in at a ceremony held Monday.
New Officers have a very diverse background of age, education, and previous work experience.
Three of the officers are Veterans who have served the United States in various branches of the military.
1. Anthony T. Arnold
Anthony is 28 years old. He grew up in New Hartford, CT, and graduated from Northwestern Regional High School in 2009.
He furthered his education at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, and in 2013 he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a minor in Professional Communication.
2. Kyle P. Doran
Kyle is 27 years old. He grew up and currently resides in Medford, Mass. He is a graduate of Medford High School, class of 2010, and is studying toward a degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
Kyle has served with the Massachusetts Air Force National Guard since 2013, currently in the position of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician.
3. Brian M. Fabian
Brian is 22 years old. He grew up in and has most recently resided in East Northport, NY, and is a graduate of Northport High School, class of 2015. He furthered his education at the State University of New York – Plattsburgh, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Personal Training in 2019.
4. Justin L. Gaudreault
Justin is 25 years old. He grew up in Manchester, NH, and is a graduate of Manchester Memorial High School, class of 2012. He went on to attend the University of New Hampshire for two years, studying toward a degree in psychology with a minor in justice studies.
5. Carissa Gurung
Carissa is 24 years old. She was born in Nepal and lived in a refugee camp in that country the age of 15, when she and her family relocated to the United States. She first attended high school in Worcester, MA, before moving to Manchester in 2012. She graduated from Manchester West High School in 2014 and be became a United States citizen in 2017.
She furthered her education at Southern New Hampshire University where in May of 2019 she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Justice Studies, with minors in Psychology and Sociology.
6. Matthew J. Messier
Matthew is 22 years old. He grew up in Vermont and is a graduate of the Lake Region Union High School, in Orleans, VT – class of 2015.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies, with a minor in Environmental Issues, from the Southern NH University in 2019.
7. Jeremy M. Millan
Jeremy is 25 years old. He was raised in New Britain, CT, and is a graduate of New Britain High School, class of 2012. He continued his education at Central Connecticut State University where he attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Communications, in 2017.
8. Sean C. Munnelly Jr.
Sean is 22 years old. He grew up in Litchfield, NH, and is a graduate of Campbell High School, in Litchfield, class of 2015. He furthered his education at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2019.
9. Sean M. Peters
Sean is 24 years old. He grew up in North Attleboro, Mass., and is a graduate of the North Attleboro High School, class of 2013.
Sean attended Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science in 2017 and went on to achieve a Master of Science in Exercise Science and Nutrition in 2019.
10. Evan R. Puopolo
Evan will turn 28 this week. He was born in Winchester, Mass. and is a graduate of the Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School in Franklin, Mass., class of 2010.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Crime and Justice Studies from the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth in 2014 and went on to achieve a Master Science degree in Criminal Justice from the Southern New Hampshire University in 2018
11. Patrick W. J. Ruddell Jr.
Patrick is 31 years old. He was born and raised in California, and is a graduate of Adolfo Camarillo High School in Camarillo, CA, class of 2006. He earned an Associate in Science degree Criminal Justice from Ventura College in California in 2012.
Patrick has served as a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department since 2015 and is a graduate of the LAPD training academy.
12. Jake S. Sawtelle
Jake will turn 28 in December. He grew up in Mass. and is a graduate of Pembroke High School in Mass. – class of 2010.
Following high school, Jake enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, based at Camp Lejuene in North Carolina. His years of service included a deployment to Afghanistan. He was honorably discharged in 2014.
13. Craig T. Stanzel
Craig is 32 years old. He is a lifelong Manchester resident and is a graduate of Manchester Memorial High School, class of 2006. He furthered his education by taking courses at the University of Rhode Island and Southern NH University
14. Matthew R. Stebbins
Matthew is 23 years old. He was born and raised in West Lebanon, NH, and is a graduate of Lebanon High School, class of 2014. He furthered his education at the University of NH in Durham where in May of 2019 he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Spanish.
15. Justin R. Wheeler
Justin is 28 years old. He was raised in and currently resides Manchester, and is a graduate of Manchester Memorial High School, class of 2010.
Following high school, Justin enlisted in the U.S. Army and served at Fort Bliss, Texas, from 2010 to 2016, with a deployment to Afghanistan in 2013. Justin was honorably discharged from active duty at the rank of staff sergeant. He returned to N.H. and served with the U.S. Army Reserve until December 2018.
Justin furthered his education by attaining an Associates of Science Degree in General Studies from the Colorado Technical University in 2013, and went on to achieve a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the same school in 2016.
