NFR 2 Alarm 862 West Hollis
A two-alarm fire heavily damaged a Nashua home Monday afternoon. The blaze broke out at 862 West Hollis St. at about 3 p.m. Deputy Fire Chief George Walker said the fire started near the home's back porch and quickly spread due to dry, windy conditions. The occupants made it out safe. The fire knocked down the porch, making it difficult for firefighters to attack the flames, Walker said. No one was hurt. The cause of the fire was "improper handling of burning materials."
