NFR was dispatched to 76 Pike Street at 4:26 PM for a reported building fire. Engine 4 the first arriving company’s found heavy fire showing from a 2-1/2 story wood frame 2 family home. Crews stretched numerous hand lines to extinguish the fire. 3 alarms were called bringing all Nashua apparatus and mutual aid from Merrimack and Tyngsborough to assist.
Special Hazards encountered: The house sat up on a hill making access difficult, all hose lines and equipment had to be carried up the driveway from Pike ST. The hot summer 90 degree day made fighting the fire more difficult as crews battled the heat of the day as well as heat from the fire.
1 occupant had minor burns and was treated at the scene.
1 Nashua Firefighter was transported to the hospital with a neck injury and 1 Firefighter from Tyngsborough was transported for heat exhaustion
The fire remains under investigation by the Nashua Fire Marshal’s office but does not appear to be suspicious.
