MANCHESTER, NH - Hundreds of men, women, and children came to the New Hampshire 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at the Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester.

Memorial Stair Climbs are a way to honor and remember the FDNY firefighters who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live on September 11, 2001.

After a ceremony on the field each participant, many with full firefighter gear walked to a memorial bell and read the names of who they were walking for. After ringing the bell they began their tribute by walking the equivalent of 110 stories of the World Trade Center.

Many of the firefighters participating were on the job when the incident happened 21 years ago. Some of the younger participants were not even born at the time, but this is a way to bring focus to the event that changed the country.

The Stair Climbs fund the programs provided by the NFFF to support the families of your local fallen firefighters and the FDNY Counseling Services Unit. See less
