Manchester Fire, AMR Ambulance and New Hampshire State Police responded to Route 293 in the area just south of the Amoskeag bridge for a reported accident Friday afternoon.

Dispatch advised responding units a motorcycle was down in the northbound lane, and the driver was on the southbound side of the highway.

An alert tractor-trailer driver who was driving southbound who witnessed the accident stopped to block traffic while units were providing medical aid to the operator of one of the motorcycles.

The motorcyclist was transported by AMR and MFD with serious injuries, but they did not appear to be life-threatening.

All lanes of the highway were closed for a short time, and they were able to open one lane for traffic to continue.

The damaged motorcycle was towed from the scene, the second motorcycle was not involved in the accident.
