Ossipee, NH - 911 received multiple calls for a fire at 455 Route 16 In Ossipee, NH. In an interview with NH State Fire Marshal Paul Parisi he said when the first crews arrived theY had heavy fire showing, with multiple injured adults and children. A 3rd Alarm was requested on arrival. Firefighters, EMS, and Police made entry into the building assisting occupants to safety.

3 adults had jumped from the windows of higher floors of the 4-story building before fire crews arrived. 2 young children had been thrown from windows to save their lives.

Fire Marshal Parisi confirmed 8 people were transported to Huggins Hospital, 2 were flown by DHART to Dartmouth Hospital and 1 was transported to Dartmouth by ambulance.

A one-month old had critical injuries involving inhalation issues, a 19-year-old had critical traumatic injuries from jumping from the window, and others had different levels of injuries. The youngest injured was one-month-old, and the oldest a 54-year-old.

According to the Fire Marshal Parisi the building contains 15 different apartments, and it is unknown how many occupants lived in the building.
The fire heavily damaged the top floors and roof, and will not be able to be reoccupied.

Firefighters were able to rescue several dogs, cats and a turtle. In an emotional moment a distraught occupant was reunited with his guitar when a police officer brought it to him, and he clenched the guitar.

The fire is under investigation, and it is too early to determine cause and origin of the fire.

The severity of injuries for some of those rescued is also unknown at this time.
