State police say that as a result of this investigation, Ryan Scott Ashley, 31 of Gilmanton has been arrested and charged in a shooting incident January 6, 2024
Sources indicate that Ashley was quickly identified as the shooter after being at the bank. Pittsfield police and state police coordinated with Gilmanton Police and Belknap Regional Special Operations Group who took him into custody in Gilmanton.
Ashley is currently being held at Merrimack County Jail pending an arraignment on Monday. He is charged with First Degree Assault and two, (2), counts of Reckless Conduct with a Deadly Weapon.

Several police departments responded to Citizens Bank at 54 Main Street Saturday January 6, 2024 for a report of multiple shots fired and two men injured at 11:50 a.m.
The location of the shooting appeared to be in the parking lot behind the bank which was cordoned off with crime scene tape and where investigators were concentrating.
At the time of the shooting there were employees and customers in the bank. When they heard the shots fired they secured themselves by locking the door and hid in the vault.
Pittsfield Fire responded to the scene and transported one male to the hospital with a gunshot wound. A second person was transported by ambulance with an unknown type of injury, several sources indicated the injury to the second man was not a gunshot wound.
A Paramedic intercept was requested from Concord Fire who met the Pittsfield ambulance at the Epsom Traffic Circle. The Paramedic joined the Pittsfield crew providing advanced medical aid while they traveled to the hospital.
State Police responded to the scene for the shooting along with Allenstown, Barnstead, Chichester and Epsom and blocked off streets and secured the scene.
