Suspect Arrested In Derry Bank Robbery Out On Parole For Bank Robbery
On January 8, 2020, at 1:28 PM the Derry Police Department received a report of a robbery at People’s United Bank on Crystal Avenue. A lone male reportedly robbed the bank and fled on foot onto Crystal Avenue. Bank employees were able to provide a physical description of the suspect.
Officers searched the area and observed a man fitting the suspect description as he ran across Crystal Avenue into Wendy’s Restaurant. They made contact with this man and after a further investigation took him into custody.
Officers recovered cash (undisclosed amount) and clothing believed to be discarded by the suspect as he attempted to flee the area.
Arrested is Seamus Murphy dob 2/28/1982 claiming no address.
Mr. Murphy is charged with one count of Robbery.
He is being held in custody pending arraignment before the 10th Circuit Court – Derry District on Thursday.
No weapon was shown during the Robbery. No one was injured during the crime or subsequent arrest of Mr. Murphy.
