A stabbing occured at about 1 pm at the corner of Merrimack and Maple Street.

An appropriate 40 year old male was stabbed in the neck, chest and hand.

The wounds do not appear to be life threatening, however a trauma alert was activated at the Elliot.

Police used a K9 to search an area spanning several blocks and did not locate the suspect.

Detectives are at the scene.

Maple Street is closed between Laurel and Manchester while the investigation is completed.

No description of the suspect is available at this time.

It appears from being at the scene this was not a random act and the people involved appear to be familiar with each other.
