Merrimack, NH - On Wednesday June 17, 20202 at 6:15 PM Merrimack Fire and Police responded to a report that a kayaker in the Merrimack River found the body of a deceased male. Fire and Police responded to Mast Rd behind the sewer treatment facility and met the kayaker who brought them to the body. The medical examiners office was requested to respond, and the body was removed.

On Friday June 19, 2020 Manchester Police Spokes Person Heather Hamel verified that after an autopsy was completed and next of kin was notified that the man found was Ronald McDonald, 37 of Manchester.

The original call in April was that McDonald had fallen in the Merrimack River in Manchester near a homeless camp just below Granite St. Manchester Fire, Police, Fish and Game and NH Marine Patrol searched the river for several days between the Granite St bridge and Queen City bridge. The search was discontinued after the body had not been found.

At the time when the man disappeared the water level was very high, and had a very strong current. When the man was found in Merrimack on Wednesday the river is at a very low level due to lack of rainfall.
