Several 911 calls about 1 p.m. reported a man had leaped from the bridge and police and fire personnel responded to the scene. Within minutes, Officer Richard Valenti Jr. spotted the 48-year-old man on the eastern bank of the river, just south of the bridge.
The unidentified jumper was taken to an unspecified local hospital for treatment of hypothermia, but sustained only minor as a result of the plunge, according to police.
MFD Rescue 1, Engine 11, Engine 2, Boats 1&2, AMR, and MFD District Chief Responded.
