Manchester Fire responded to Memorial Drive Wednesday morning for a report of a gas line that had been severed and was leaking.

When MFD arrived Liberty Utilities was already on the scene attempting to shut off the gas leaking from a .75 inch gas line.

Manchester Public Works crews were working in the area installing drainage and working around gas lines that were marked by dig safe. A gas line that was at a different location and not buried deep was struck by the crew.

The gas was shut off and the line was repaired. Manchester Fire crews remained on the scene until the line was fixed and the air monitoring showed the gas had cleared from the area.

No evacuations were necessary
