Manchester Fire responded to 663 Varney Street at 2:07 p.m. Saturday for a reported building fire.
Upon arrival, Engine 6 reported an outside fire that traveled up the exterior of the building. The Fire was extinguished while interior companies simultaneously searched the building and checked for fire extension.
All occupants self-evacuated, and the Fire was declared Under Control at 2:29 p.m.
The Fire Prevention Bureau conducted an investigation and determined the Fire's origin to be improper disposal of ashes.
The estimated damage is estimated to be about $25,000
