DPW Garbage Truck Catches Fire In East Side Neighborhoodbr/br/At 9am Thursday morning, MFD received calls for a vehicle fire on Hulme St between Alexander and Cranwell. While in route it was updated that it was a Manchester DPW garbage truck which was on fire.br/br/When arriving at the scene they found the rear of the truck on fire along with the contents of the truck. br/br/MFD Engine 7 had the driver dump the load onto the street so they could access the fire and avoid further damage to the truck. br/br/A front loader was called from DPW to break up the load to further access the fire so it could be properly extinguished. br/br/After about 1.5 hours work the fire was out, garbage removed and the scene cleaned up.
