MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack police and several law enforcement agencies are on the scene at Cabot Road for a barricaded person inside a house.

Merrimack police initially responded to a call reporting a woman was being held at gunpoint at the home on June 23, 2024. The woman escaped safely from the man who reportedly was holding her at gunpoint. Police secured a perimeter around the house and called for assistance from New Hampshire State Police, who sent several troopers.

At the request of Merrimack police, the SWAT team from the Southern New Hampshire Special Operations Unit (SNHSOU). The unit comprises officers from several towns across Southern New Hampshire who responded to the scene. The SNHSOU bearcat and command post responded to Cabot Road, and officers arrived from several towns.

Sources indicate the man remains in the house at this time and has not communicated with police who are outside the residence. Cabot Road is closed at Woodridge Road.

Merrimack Fire Rescue has personnel at the scene who are staged away from the house with the person in it and are there to provide fire and EMS services if needed.
