An apartment building at 21 and 31 Central Street is making progress and putting steel up using a crane that is highly visible from downtown Manchester.

The building will be named Grand Central Suites with 77 apartments that will include one and two bedroom units and nearly 2,000 square feet of commercial space, according to the plans. The rents will range from $2,000 to $3,000 a month, according to project documents.

The combined 2021 assessed valuation of the two parcels was $765,900. The total project is expected to cost about $23.8 million, according to Nazaka.

Sources indicate the project should be complete at some point in 2025, although a firm completion date has not been released by the contractor at this time.

The Central Street is one of many projects being build in Manchester and is a short distance from the soon to be completed 75 Canal Street project.
