FOM2017-3806
Manchester Police held an awards ceremony to recognize officers for outstanding service above and beyond the call of duty.
On March 28, 2017, at 8:30 a.m., a subject waiting in the lobby of the police department suffered a medical emergency.
Sgt. Marr noted the subject was in distress and went to assist. He recognized the subject was in cardiac arrest and immediately began to render aid, while notifying other personnel to call 911.
Sgt. Marr began chest compressions. Officer Catano responded with a portable defibrillator, which was used twice on the subject. Sgt. Marr and Lt. Mucci continued chest compressions, while Lt. Ledoux and Officer Catano monitored the man’s condition, until members of the fire department responded.
The man survived the medical emergency, due in large part to the quick action and medical assistance rendered by Sgt. Peter Marr, Lt. Joseph Mucci, Lt. Nicole Ledoux, and Officer Victoria Catano. In acknowledgement of their outstanding performance of duty, each is presented the Life Saving Medal.
