February 19th the Windham Fire Department conducted live fire training at #47 North Lowell Road that involved multiple fire training scenarios for firefighters before allowing two of the structures to burn in order to make way for a future development.
The purpose of these exercises was to provide valuable training for firefighters and our surrounding communities under realistic fire conditions. Firefighters have been continually training at this property for the past several weeks performing search and rescue skills, ventilation training and firefighter self-rescue techniques. These exercises also performed under real conditions, helps ensure that we are ready when a real-life emergency occurs.
Firefighters from Derry and Salem also participated in today’s training burn while firefighters from Pelham and Londonderry provided coverage of the town. I want to give special thanks to Assistant Chief Stephen Brady and Firefighter Don Cole for their coordinated effort in making this training day a successful one, and to all Windham firefighters who no
